Challenges
Replacing the WR cedar to meet the AS3959 BAL29 requirement was not an option for the client so finding a solution that allowed the surfaces to be retained was important.
Solution
Fireshell F1E applied to the rough sawn WR weatherboards and left the off-the-shelf grey colour which blended into the natural environment. Fireshell was utilised on all exposed timber surfaces and in conjunction with a window roller shutter system to achieve an effective ignition barrier solution for the property.
Outcome
Weatherboards were retained and any new timbers were matched like for like simplifying the upgrade process for the client. BAL29 compliance met with a tested system on WR cedar. The overall look and finish were in keeping with the property and environment.
