Challenges
Old timbers required a flexible system to flow into cracks and provide a high level of fire resistance, sealing off the combustible surface and providing an ignition barrier.
The coating needed to be applied efficiently via airless spray. The solution needed to be able to provide up to 10 years of protection in a tough, hot environment.
Solution
Fireshell F1EHV was chosen by the project Engineers as the only suitable coating system able to meet the project’s specific requirements. Timbers were pressure washed prior to the application of the Fireshell F1EHV ignition barrier.
KBSS based in WA provided the expert application of the system.
Outcome
Application was completed on time and the Fireshell F1EHV element provided a cost effective and highly efficient solution to meeting the performance requirements of the project Engineers and the clients. Fireshell F1EHV protecting the timber surfaces from any potential fire risk.
