Varying timber substrates and conditions meant the solution needed to be robust for all conditions and provide a flexible, extreme duty, ignition barrier coating solution. Older surfaces required the system to have high quality primer and long-term weathering capabilities. A tough ask for any system.
FIRESHELL F1E was specified statewide as part of the program due to its class-leading fire test performance for both ignition and flame barrier as its accelerated weathering performance on a variety of timber surfaces. Its versatility also allowed for its use on a pvc water tank along with the timber applications as part of a risk reduction solution for the school.
The applicators found the system simple to work with, offering a high quality primer and intumescent coating solution in one.
Works could be carried out efficiently with both BushFire Attack Level compliance and finish requirements met.
Fireshell® F1E is an exterior, waterborne, non-hazardous, self-priming, flexible intumescent coating.
It provides an ignition and flame spread barrier on external combustible surfaces. Achieves AS3959 bushfire resting timber compliance including accelerated weathering compliance for softwoods BAL12.5, BAL19 & BAL29. ISO 5660 compliant for external timber cladding and a range of risk reduction solutions for external combustible surfaces.
