The storage facility needed to remain partly operational during the works, presenting a unique and logistical challenge for the EXFIRE preferred applicators.
Solution
The Fireshell F10E pigmented intumescent ignition barrier coating was spray applied to achieve an ignition barrier solution to meet the insurance company requirements on the PU foam surfaces. An approved washable acrylic topcoat was applied to improve the washability of the system going forward. As a low VOC, self-priming, water-based, non-hazardous option, this system allowed for efficient and safe application in the area.
Outcome
The client was able to meet the updated risk reduction and ignition barrier requirements of their insurer. The facility operations were not impacted, as the system was low VOC and water-based; allowing for quick and efficient application.
